Due to the European Packaging and Packaging Wast Regulation (PPWR), wich comes into force on August 12, 2026, we can no longer offer shipping to other European countries. The cost we would incur – approximately € 500 just to deliver a single package to a country other than Germany – are exorbitant, not mention the immense administrative effort involved. This also means that we will hardly receive any packages from other European countries ourselves, small businesses there face the same problem. At the same time, this marks the end of the *Botanischer Suchdienst* (Botanical Search Service) after 26 years.
Regarding countries bordering Germany: We can deliver to automated parcel lockers (*Packstationen*), German addresses, and cross-border parcel pickup points. However, this meanst the customer must find a pickup location (such as a * Packstation*) near the border to privide us with a delivery address; for instance, a customer from Austria would have to drive across the border in person to collect their package.
These countries are: Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
So much for „ promoting the economy“ and „cutting red tape“. In doing so, lawmakers across various sectors are effectively destroying the European Single Market for small businesses.
